Using the Mobile Roll Forming Machine Onsite
Using a Portable Roll Forming Machine On-site.
The modern technology of roofing and siding panel production often demands the alternative approach that puts all previous knowledge upside-down. It is crucial to fulfill the expectation of the clients that know exactly what they want to get.
Our client’s expectations and our response on them.
The First Demand.
I would like to get the standing seam roofing panel along entire length of the slop of my roof, no matter how long it is.
The First Response
Yes, sometimes it happens that the length of the slop of the roof is much longer than permitted transport dimensions. We may face these conditions when doing roofing jobs for workshops, warehouses, large residential houses etc. In this case it is always crucial to get full leak protection. We do not want to have lots of transverse connections that may lead to leaking. But the solution is pretty easy - to put a roll forming machine on the trailer, fix it properly and produce the panels right at the site of work. As the proverb says-“If the mountain doesn’t come to Mohammed, then Mohammed must come to the mountain”.
The same situation may apply when the roofing job consists of multiple slopes on the roof with complex shapes. Sometimes the only right way is to get the machine on site and make the panels one by one considering all nuances.
The Second Demand.
I do not want to wait until the manufacturer will produce my roofing panels and want to get them ASAP.
The Second Response
We are maybe the most patient society around the world, but sometimes it is really the matter of life or death to finish the project at the specific deadline. The manufacturers, especially at a high season, have lines of orders and sometimes it takes months to get the roof from them because of delivery issues even when the order was already done.
The mobile crew with mounted-on-the-trailer machine might close your needs and safe the deadline of the project. Instead of extra payment it is a good possibility to get work done ASAP for the client and to gain extra money for the company which has the portable roll former. A win-win situation.
The Third Demand.
I would like to get my roof installed on an off-grid house and in hard reach area.
The Third Response
Our souls belong to the wild. We want to spend getaways as far from civilization as we can reach. Almost everyone dreams about cute cabin in the middle of nowhere. And at the some point of life we can afford to build the dream heaven. Then we start searching for the contractor who can make our dreams come true.
That is why using a portable roll forming machine sometimes is not just comfortable but crucial for the project.
How can you imagine moving the 40 feet semi-truck through the springs and thickets? No way. But 4 by 4 truck with a machine on the trailer might make this job done and make the panels directly on the spot. A win-win situation again.
We provided just three most common examples of using the roll forming machine on site. No doubt if we’ll dig deeper we might provide more situations that show the indispensability of mobile technology in modern building demands. But let’s leave that for our next articles.
It is always a steep learning curve that needs to be overcome before we come to the peak of the success… and move further again.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions in regard of roll forming machines. We always have them in stock for your needs, whether you want to use them stationary in your workshop, or mounted on a trailer.
